Former councilman Emeritus, Reynaldo «Rey» Martínez, presented a Police Department seal to be displayed in Municipal Hall
HALEDON, OCT 16 – On the evening of October 12, during the Borough of Haledon’s celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, former councilman Emeritus of the Borough of Haledon, Reynaldo R Martínez, presented Haledon with a special gift in the form of a 3×3 feet Haledon Police Department seal to be displayed in Municipal Hall.
In his speech, Martínez said that it was an honor and a privilege to be able to present this special gift to the city that, for many years, gave him the opportunity to serve the public.
Martínez said to be very proud of his work with the men and women of the Haledon Police Department during his tenure as Chair of Public Safety. Martínez’s focus on diversity, equitable hiring and promotional practice, and departmental morale were cornerstone to his leadership.

He thanked the current mayor, the Honorable Michael Johnson, the Borough Council, Haledon Police Chief, Angelo Daniele, Deputy Chief George Guzmán, and Haledon PBA president John Bonilla for their excellent leadership. Martinez also noted the excellent work of the rank and file.

On that evening, Councilman Martínez was presented with The Haledon PBA President’s Award for his contributions to the Haledon Police Department and with a Haledon Mayor and Council Certificate of Special Recognition.

«I am beyond proud of your accomplishments,» stated Martínez, as he referred to the men and women of the Haledon Police Department.
